So you’ve made the decision to go big with your next shed project. Whether it’s another car, boat, or tractor coming in and needing a roof above it, or dedicated workshop garage for woodworking, our Big Shed experts would be happy to take on the challenge and design a shed that reflects your unique brand.

How does that happen exactly?

Today, we’ll walk you through the Big Sheds Sales and Design process. We’ll give you a detailed account of what to expect from the moment you pick up the phone or send that enquiry.

"Hello! I’d like to design my dream Big Shed!"

You came to the right place! Whether you’re reaching out to us over the phone or by sending an enquiry using our Get Quote page, here’s some information that we absolutely would need to be able to get a quote ready for you.

Big Shed Information Requirements:

• Personal information (name, phone number, and email address)

We understand how you normally keep these things private, but it’s best to have your contact information ready and available. We won’t bug you with excessive calls or offers, but we do need to be able to reach you for any clarifications, adjustments, or any other helpful information that we can offer as we proceed with designing your unique Big Shed.

•   Site address

We’re not going to drop by unannounced on a Saturday for steaks and beer, don’t worry! Your site address is a key component for us to be able to determine the weather and wind conditions and design a shed with the right wind rating that can handle it. We use a special program that uses the longitude and latitude of your sheds location to ensure we know how beefed up we need to make your shed, to ensure it stands the test of time.

If you’re part of the Best Sheds of Australia group on Facebook, I’m sure you’ve seen video or two of sheds that weren’t braced properly, or worse, that one where the doors were flapping around in the wind.

Oof. To avoid potential concerns like that from brewing up, send us your site address and we’ll engineer designs and make sure that the components built for your Big Shed will be able to handle any Big Bad Wolf that comes huffin’ and puffin’.

• Shed information

While we’ve got a house stacked with experts on sheds, we’re not clairvoyant (Travis might be, but we can’t tell for sure!) and need basic information like measurements; how big do you want to go? What colour do you prefer? How tall do you want it?

• Custom options

Now here comes the exciting part!                  

Do you want glass windows to go with that side office? Not a windows fan? Want some glass for that extra touch of class? We could add glass windows or a glass sliding door. Most shed companies that do custom work like our Big Sheds line don’t offer these as options. True story.

How about motorised roller doors for your double car garage? Insulation for those hot Summer days and cold Winter nights?

Keep those pesky pests out with fly screens for your windows and vermin-proofing.

"I’ve sent in all the information, what’s next?"

Now that we’ve got the technical things out of the way, we’ll need some time to make the magic happen. A week? A month?

‍The lead time might increase slightly during peak periods, but we do our utmost best to get back to quote and design requests as soon as we can. After all, a busy shed manufacturing company is a good one!

We operate during regular business hours and are open from 8am – 5pm AEST on Mondays to Fridays. We love a good weekend just as much as the next guy, but feel free to reach out and send your enquiries in. We’ll get to them as soon as we can on the next working day.

"How do I go about paying for the Big Shed? Do you have any financing options?"

If you’re looking to secure just the engineering plans for council approval or documentation, you can pay as low as $550 for standard engineering plans and we’ll get started on drafting and getting them ready for you.  No lock ins, no hidden fees. It’s your dream and your shed, you decide how and when you want to move forward.

Another option is for 20% upfront. This gets you the site-specific engineering plans for council approval and locks the quoted price for a set number of days from the date when you receive the plans from us. How is this any better? Because you not only get your engineering plans, you also get to secure the discounted price you’re quoted and keep it for the next 60 days.

‍We offer financing options for ABN holders. The specifics are laid out in detail by the company who will be providing the financial assistance. You will be contacted about the terms once the quote is set and before we proceed with manufacturing.

"Done and dusted! When can I expect my Big Shed?"

Manufacturing lead times vary depending on the project and the delivery timelines will depend on the location where the BigShed is going to be shipped to. Once the balance is settled in full, your Big Shed will go from plans to manufacturing. It’s not just a dream anymore, it’s time to make it real!

Your Big Shed will be rolled, pressed and packed straight from our manufacturing plant in Albury, NSW, bringing you the true Aussie-made quality you’ve known to value and trust.

Delivery will be carried out by our own team on a semi-trailer. When you need to move Big Shed components across varying distances, it’s got to be a big vehicle ready to take on the load and move big things.
